Fat injections can be used to re-contour the face, fill frown lines and wrinkles, crow's feet, nasolabial folds (smile lines) and fill out depressed scarred areas, such as acne scars.

  • How the injections are done Fat injections
    • The donor site, from where the fat is harvested is injected with intravenous fluids to facilitate the collection and the fat cells are extracted through a small needle and syringe.
    • The fat is then processed and excess fluid is removed and then re-injected in multiple thin strands in the desired area.
    • Overfilling the correction site is required since some of the fat will be absorbed in the weeks after treatment.
    • This non-allergenic treatment is becoming more and more popular and the results vary from several months to permanent.
  • Notes on fat injections
    • Swelling and bruising does occur but fat injections should not be used for breast augmentation.
