Herewith some information that you may find interesting. This information should be observed before, during and after a massage.

Non-compliance to these guidelines will not negatively impact on the over-all effect, but sticking to these simple and easy-to-follow points, will make your massage a far better experience.
Before the massage:
For your comfort it is best to empty your bladder before a massage session.
If you wish, you may have a small glass of water before the massage.
Please remove all jewelry and spectacles before a massage.
Please switch off your mobile phone.
You will be given instructions on what clothing to remove and space will probably be provided to hang your clothes.
Should you be wearing contact lenses please make the therapist aware of it.
If you suffer from any serious medical condition, please advise the therapist.
When you are getting ready for the massage, also prepare yourself mentally to relax and to leave all problems behind - even if it is just for the period that you are being massaged.
During the massage:
When lying down on the massage bed, feel secure that you are in a safe environment, and make yourself "one" with the bed.
If the room is too cold or too warm for you, request the therapist to either alter the climate control, or to cover you with more towels or blankets.
Lie down in the position as instructed, close your eyes and start focusing on your body.
Be aware of your breathing and try to breathe deeply and rhythmically while filling your lungs to capacity and then expelling all air when exhaling.
In order to receive the full benefit from the massage, focus your attention on the touch and rhythm used by the therapist - this will also help you to relax and to forget any other problems.
If you feel that you cannot "switch off" from your everyday worries whilst having a massage, select a word like "peace" and keep on repeating it to yourself in your mind.
Another method to "switch off" is to try and visualize a place in the world which is the most peaceful and calming to you personally - be that on a beach or on a mountain top.
Allow your body to go limp and heavy and let the therapist move your limbs as required without trying to help him/her. Try not to tense up while he/she is working on you.
If you find a specific massage motion relaxing, or if you feel that the releasing of pressure points is too sensitive, inform your therapist, but otherwise try and have some quiet time with yourself.
After the massage:
You will feel relaxed and may take a minute or so to get in touch with your surroundings again.
Have at least a full glass of room temperature water directly after the massage and also ensure that you have a good intake of water during the period 6 hours after the massage.
Try to move in a quiet and relaxed way, and if possible, take some time off after the massage to make the relaxation last longer and try to avoid any exciting activities.
Should you smoke, try not to smoke for at least a couple of hours after the massage.
Should you normally consume alcoholic beverages, try not to drink any form of alcohol for at least 24 hours after the massage for the fullest benefit.
If you are having a meal soon after the massage, rather opt for lighter food and go easy on meat products and spices as well as oily foods and cream.
Allow your body to heal itself from everyday tension, worry and stress, by trying to keep your equilibrium and by having a regular massage.
