Serilesine® - stimulation of hemidesmosome formation leads to better cohesion of the dermis and epidermis

Different clinical tests were done to prove that Serilesine helps to keep skin aging at bay by stimulating various mechanisms.

This page looks at how it stimulates the formation of hemidesmosomes.

To place this in context with how it helps to fight aging and to have a younger looking skin, please look at the Serilesine summary page by clicking here.

Serilesine is used in the following products:

Stimulation of hemidesmosome formation

Both proteins, a6-integrin and Laminin-5, form a cell structure called hemidesmosome, that can be seen by transmission electron microscopy as electron-dense plaques. Serilesine at 0.005% has proved to increase the number of hemidesmosomes, thus increasing cohesion between dermis and epidermis.

If better cohesion between the dermis and epidermis is achieved, the skin appears younger, there is less sagging and the skin appears far more firm and compact.

Due to the fact that combining all the images on one page makes it too large to download within a fair period of time, we created different pages dealing with each aspect that was tested.

The other test that were performed can be viewed by clicking the hyperlink.
