By immunohistochemistry, we evaluated the synthesis a6-Integrin, which is synthesized by keratinocytes and mediates their adhesion to the basement membrane.

Serilesine has shown to increase integrin synthesis in the basement membrane zone of the organotypic cultures.

The graph below shows the fluorescence quantification calculated by image analysis with Metamorph software. Integrin expression is 75% higher in Serilesine treated tissues than in controls, and this, combined with all the other actions of Serilesine helps to create a younger looking skin.
