Our Rejuvenating Toner is a new generation facial toner and contains no alcohol, while containing active ingredients to maximize the appearance of your skin. Most skin toners are merely pH adjusters, to fix the pH value of the skin after cleansing it, but since our cleansers are perfectly balanced, our toner does not need to balance the PH of the skin. We have however formulated a facial toner to actively help with improving the quality and texture of the skin.

Our Rejuvenating Toner can be used on all skin types - but if you are struggling with an acne prone skin or pimples, then rather consider using our Problem Skin Toner.
Old fashioned toners, also referred to as astringents and fresheners, contained alcohol to help dissolve and remove the remains of greasy make-up after you have washed your face. These toners make the face feel cool and clear - since the evaporating alcohol causes a feeling of coolness on the skin - but also cause the skin to become dry. Since some cleansers also stripped the skin of its natural pH balance, the toner had the main function of restoring this balance again.
Years ago, make-up was based on extremely greasy formulations, but luckily, modern day make-up does not rely on these greasy formulations - even lip color or eye shadow, formulated to last for hours.
Because cleansers were also not very effective, old-fashioned toners contained alcohol which was used to dissolve the last traces of greasiness and make-up, but although this was successful, the use of alcohol promotes the drying of the skin, and can also negatively impact on the acid balance of the skin.
The newer generation toners, like our Rejuvenating Toner, are used to balance the acidity of the skin - also referred to as the acid mantle - since loss of acid mantle integrity can lead to excessive oiliness, dryness and can also leave the skin open to infection.
The Stratum corneum, also called the horny layer of the skin, is your first line of defense against infection and keeping viruses and bacteria at bay, and the integrity of this layer is therefore of prime importance in maintaining a healthy skin.
Restoring the acid mantle of the skin with the use of a well-formulated toner is a first-line defense - to ward off the advances of these microorganisms and to preserve the homeostasis of the skin.
Our Rejuvenating Toner will ensure that the pH of the skin is in balance, but more importantly, it will tone the skin, help to minimize the pore size and will promote a fine textured skin.
Apart from this basic function, our Rejuvenating Toner has been formulated to help the skin even further, by including some specialized ingredients, not normally found in everyday, run-of-the-mill toners.
It is suitable for use by all ages, all skin types - irrespective of your ethnic background and origin.
We believe that consumers should be well informed, and for this reason we list our ingredients, and provide a hyperlink per ingredient to a page dealing specifically with that ingredient, in order for consumers to understand why the ingredient was included in the formulation.
- Chamomile
- Not only does it have antiseptic and healing properties, but it is most helpful in relieving skin congestion, while also having an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory action on the skin. The alpha-bisabolol contained in Chamomile promotes granulation and tissue regeneration, while the flavonoids help to reduce redness of the skin while strengthening the capillaries in the skin.
- Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
- The anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action of this herb is well established and documented and the astringent effect it has on the skin helps to improve skin tone.
- Restharrow (Ononis spinosa)
- This ingredient helps to fight inflammation while also having a diuretic effect on the skin - to clear congestion and puffiness. Apart from this it is active against a wide spectrum of bacteria and fungi, to help prevent any skin problems.
- Rosemary
- This herb has great toning and binding effects on sagging skin, while at the same time increasing blood flow, which helps with proper skin functioning. Furthermore, it helps to relieve skin congestion and this diuretic property is useful to reduce puffiness, resulting in a firmer skin and better skin tone, while at the same time promoting a healthy-looking complexion.
- Cranberry
- The tocotrienols contained in cranberry are very nourishing and moisturizing and also have good anti-oxidant properties, protecting the skin from stresses caused by sunlight. The omega oils contained help to moisturize the skin while at the same time reduce inflammation and strengthen the skin. Apart from nourishing the skin, cranberry helps to improve moisture retention and to increase skin smoothness, elasticity and suppleness of the skin, while at the same time improving collagen and the elastin fibers found in the skin.
- Jojoba
- This golden liquid ester readily penetrates the skin and has a natural affinity to the skin, helping to minimize fine lines and wrinkles, promoting skin suppleness while assisting in rejuvenation of the skin. It furthermore helps to balance the secretion of sebum of the skin, while preventing skin dehydration. When absorbed by the skin, it softens the tissue and increases elasticity and smoothness of the skin. The tocopherols contained are great free radical scavengers and so help prevent oxidative stress and aging in the skin.
- Coltsfoot Leaf (Tussilago farfara)
- Coltsfoot is excellent to reduce oxidative stress on the skin and also helps to relieve inflammation. Apart from this it also has anti-microbial properties.
- Thyme
- Not only does wild Thyme help to improve skin tone, but it also offers good astringent qualities, as well as being a powerful antifungal and antiviral agent - helping to keep any nasties at bay.
- Sage (Salvia officinalis)
- Sage is a superb antiseptic, astringent and antioxidant - which helps to control excess free radicals. It furthermore has good anti-microbial and anti-viral properties.
- Melissa
- This herbal extract not only has excellent antioxidant properties, but also acts as an antiviral, anti-bacterial and also possesses certain anti-tumor properties.
- Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)
- It has great skin cell rejuvenating properties and helps to stabilize the tissue, while the high silica content has a smoothing and softening effect on the skin. Horsetail also helps to improve circulation, while at the same time having an astringent action. It contains bio-minerals necessary for the manufacture of collagen and elastin, which helps to rebuild connective tissue in the skin.
- Centella Asiatica
- This herbal extract has a very positive effect on increasing circulation in the skin as well as assisting with the proper functioning and formation of collagen, by modulating the action of the fibroblast. It has good anti-oxidant properties and helps to improve the firmness, tone and elasticity of the skin, thereby improving the appearance of the skin in general. Furthermore, it promotes vein and capillary health in the skin and is a good general tonic for the skin.
- Horse Chestnut
- This extract has a direct influence on improving the health of veins and capillaries in the skin, which in turn leads to proper circulation and maximum skin functioning. It has a strengthening effect on the venous system, and prevents capillary fragility – which could result in leaking, causing edema (water retention) within the skin, which in turn leads to an uneven looking skin. Apart from this, it inhibits collagenase and elastase in the skin – and therefore leads to healthier collagen and supportive skin structure that in turn results in a healthier younger looking skin, while at the same time fighting inflammatory conditions, which if left unchecked, could lead to premature aging.
- Rose
- This is excellent in promoting better skin tone, improved elasticity and an even colored complexion. It furthermore sooths irritated skin and boosts circulation.
- Rosehip
- This ingredient helps to boost the regeneration of the skin while increasing elasticity. Apart from this it has good astringent and diuretic properties, which work together for a healthy looking skin.
- Myrrh
- This ingredient has exceptional healing properties and is extremely useful for stressed, dehydrated skin, as it helps to balance the hydration (moisture) of the skin. It furthermore assists in preventing tissue degeneration.
- Silk Amino Acids
- This exotic ingredient has excellent water binding properties, which helps to prevent dehydration of the skin. On top of this, it also has good antioxidant qualities.
- Marshmallow Root
- This ingredient is great to soothe irritation of the skin. It also contains antioxidant properties. Some research has indicated that it may also be useful to mediate excessive pigmentation.
- Zinc
- This is included in our Rejuvenating Toner to fight and kill micro-organisms and germs on the skin, thereby effectively cleansing the skin and improving the barrier function of the skin. Zinc sulfate also has an astringent effect on the skin, clearing and refining the pores.
- Witch hazel
- This ancient skin care ingredient not only helps to stabilize the barrier function of the skin, but also helps to reduce redness and has good anti-oxidant properties as well. Witch hazel is an excellent astringent and also helps to control water loss while at the same time calming irritated skin.

- Cleanse the skin with Rejuvenating Face Wash, pat skin dry and apply toner by spraying directly on to the skin and wiping with a tissue or cotton wool.
- The toner can be applied by spraying it onto cotton wool and wiping the face with the wetted cotton wool.
- Ensure that you use the toner all over the face, including the area under the chin, the neckline and hairline as well.
